Club Matchman Competition
The proposal to change the format of the current Matchman Competition received general support from those present at the April meeting although one or two tweaks to the suggested rules have subsequently been agreed.
The Competition is now closed and Round 1 under way.
Rules
- The Matchman Competition will now be run on a Knock Out basis with participants fishing against each other on an individual basis i.e one against one.
- Shore league specimen and minimum weights will apply and the winners of each individual round will be determined by the best of TWO different species.
- In the event of competitors in a particular pairing only catching one species, then the best specimen will determine the winner.
- The first round will start on 27 May 2011 and may be fished at any time from this date until the date of the next club meeting on Wednesday 29 June 2011 when the winners will be announced and a draw will be made for the next round.
- The normal arrangements for the weigh-in and registration of fish captures will apply including the provision for catch and release.
- The entry fee for each competitor is £5.00 payable as soon as possible but no entries will be accepted AFTER the date of the next club meeting on 25 May 2011.
- The amount of the total entry fees will be matched by a similar sum from club funds and awarded as cash prizes on a proportionate basis (perhaps 75% and 25%) to the eventual winner and runner up.
